pics from our Girl's Night Out

Since we were featuring Gooseberry cookbooks, I made some recipes from several of the books. I will even share one with you here. The Kielbasa Bites were a big hit and so simple. Just combine 1lb of sliced kielbasa, 1 c. apricot preserves, 1/2 c. maple syrup, 2 T. spple juice in a slow cooker. Cover, put on low and 4 hours later, some yummy treats.
Oops, don't know how to turn this pic. Took a couple of decorating ideas from the Gooseberry book. These are real pumpkins covered in glitter. I just brushed on white glue and sprinkled glitter. Didn't get a pic, but on a couple of other pumpkins, I just did the stems, one a bight green and the other purple. Just plain fun!

These are real pears. Just dip the bottom portion in water and then in colored sugar. They are so pretty. Also we carved out a space just big enought for a tealight in some articifal pumpkins. I just love Gooseberry- they have so many quick. easy ideas!

Some really cute bracelets that Amy did for her make and take projects. They are just precious. Thanks, Amy. Jamie and her daughter making their bracelets. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks everyone for coming. It was a fun evening but we couldn't do it without you. You gals are great!

Have you seen these charms?

This is the cutest idea. You can get a locket as a necklace, keychain or bracelet either in a heart or a circle. Just open it up and put in charms of your choice. There are birthstone hearts, little boys or girls with birthstones, pink or yellow ribbons, American flag, I love Grandma, dog foot prints, charms about hobbies, the list goes on. My fav is the tiny little diamond ring. These are so fun to make either for yourself or as a gift.

Bananagrams

Just got these in. A great portable game. The letter tiles come in a cloth pouch shaped like fruit. The banana is for all ages, the apple and the pear are fun for kids 6 and up. These should be great little gifts for Christmas.

Miss Adventurer

Well, I am home. Mr. Willow and I took a little trip to Portugal. I have no pics to share becasue on our third day there, someone broke into our car and stole everything we had, including my camera which had some scrumptious photos of some of my meals. It was quite an adventure. Mr. Willow loved it because beer there is cheap. We stayed in pousadas most of the nights which were absolutely wonderful. If you ever go to Portugal, stay in them. I think there are about 50 of them throughout the country. They are in renovated monasteries, castles, historical buildings or in extra ordinary natural settings. We stayed in 5 different ones and they were incredible.
