Thank you, Amy

This morning , my friend, Amy spent several hours helping me with my blog. Of course, we had to squeeze in breakfast at one of my favs, Flying Star. So what do you think of the wallpaper. I love it. THANKS, Amy. What would we do without our friends? Such gifts from God.

A Harvest of Pumpkin and Squash Cookbook, yum!

Talk about some great recipes and I love the photographs!
Here is Cheese Soup in Little Pumpkin Shells. What a great way to serve any autumn soup!
This is Sesame. Quinoa, Butternut Squash, and Pear Salad. What is Quinoa you ask? It is the only grain that furnishes a complete protein.
And who could forget dessert! Doesn't this Pumpkin Cheesecake with a Gingersnap Crust look delish?

Antique Doll Trunk Show

Aren't these dolls pretty. I should look so good when I am over 100 years old.
Anita gave a presentation on antique dolls that the ladies enjoyed. She brought several dozen dolls that are for sale. Besides being very knowledgable, Anita also repairs dolls

I love the basket of baby dolls. They look so real.

fall is here

Everyday we are getting in new stuff. Don'tcha just love fall colors? In the first pic is the yummest smelling pot pourri.

I unpacked some more boxes. See!

These stained glass frames, boxes and lamps are so delicate and pretty. I have had my eye on them for quite a while and finally ordered them at the Seattle market. They sure didn't take long to get here. I think it took me longer to unpack and price them than it took to get here.
Fall is coming! Don't you just love the crisp mornings? Pretty soon the leaves will be turning.

Ok. here are photos from just some of the boxes I got the other day

The new Gooseberry Cookbooks-Homemade Harvest, Homemade Christmas and New Slow Cookers, Casseroles and Skillet Cookbook. New this year are the 101 series- 101 Autumn Recipes, 101 Christmas Recipes and 101 Easy Entertaining recipes. There are some great looking recipes and lots of pictures in the 101 series.

Aren't these the cutest little teapots and teacups. They don't have to be for kids but what little girl wouldn't love having 'tea with Grandma' with this very special teapot.

Not sure how well you can see but got in a bunch of fall, halloween and Christmas flags, mailbox covers and floor mats from Magnet Wraps. They add a touch of seasonal fun starting at your curb.

Lots of baby and kid stuff. I love books so got a lot of them in. Soft blankets, towels, and toys. And more is still coming.
Sorry this pictures turned out so yellow. They looked fine on my little camera screen. I tell you, someday I am gonna have to break down and buy some reading glasses so I can see.

Photos from last night's Girl's Night Out

The gals guessed how many candies in the Jar. Congrats to Barbara for getting the closest with 899. There really are 1201, can you believe it?
Amy made this wonderful pot pourri and embossed these cute little paper bags. The gals bagged their own and sprayed it with the essential oil of their choice. Amy shared how she made the pot pourri. Just slice apples and/or oranges, sprinkle with cinnamon, spread on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 250 degrees until dried out.Smells so good even without the oils. I bet pears would work well also.

APPLETINI
This is a really refreshing summertime beverage and so easy. Mix a bottle of sour apple martini mix, a bottle of sparkling apple juice and a half bottle of sparkling lemon soda. Didn't do it here, but you can add a green apple slice.

SUMMERTIME FRUIT SALAD
This is a quick, yummy salad of 6 cups watermelon, 3 cups sliced strawberries, 8 leaves of basil, sliced thin and at the last minute toss in a mixture of 1/2 c. lemon juice and 1/2 c. extra virgin olive oil.
Another quick snack are these roll ups. Mix 8oz of whipped cream cheese, 8 oz feta cheese, 4 0z walnuts, and 6 oz dried cranberries. Spread on flour tortilla and rollup. Refrigerate, then slice.

Aren't these so clever?

These bird seed cakes come in hearts, stars, butterflies and even egg shaped. They are a great gift for that person who has everything. I mean, who wouldn't want to hang these cuties in their tree for the birds to enjoy!

Zeke was afraid last night!

We had a lot of wind. Didn't realized until morning, just how much. No wonder Zeke didn't want to sleep alone!
Beside blowing my copper fire pit apart, this wood andirondack chair was blown at least 10 feet.

Zeke and I check out more damage.

We only have four trees and three of them lost some good sized branches.
